Welcome

Peninsular War Battlefield Tours specialise in organising Battlefield Tours of the Peninsular War, in Spain. Our tours are aimed at those who are interested in the Peninsular War and wish to visit the locations they have read so much about.  Many of our clients have a desire to learn more about the Peninsular War, and we are happy to welcome enthusiasts and those who know little, or nothing, about the war. Peninsular War Battlefield Tours offer excellent value and more importantly, an enjoyable experience.

Unless otherwise stated, all Peninsular War Battlefield Tours include accommodation (in local family run hotels), breakfast, evening meals (with wine and coffee), return airfare, transport in Spain and the services of a guide and tour manager. Prices are based on two people sharing.

Not included are personal expenses, such as bar bills, telephone calls, souvenirs or lunches; which are taken in a local bar or restaurant, depending on time and location.

Peninsular War Battlefield Tours make all hotel and flight reservations and organise all arrangements so that you will enjoy your tour to the full without worry. We are available for advice and can give useful tips on the likely weather to expect, what to wear and what to bring.

Peninsular War Battlefield Tours often journey to places of the Peninsular not frequently visited by foreign tourists, and all areas have a history and beauty of their own, especially during the Spring and Autumn seasons. Time will be taken to enjoy some of these sights and to experience local culture; but our main focus is on the military history of the war.

Your guide will be Malcolm Jones, who is a British military historian and a badged member (Badge Nš 45) of the Guild of Battlefield Guides. He is a resident of Spain and lives close to many of the battlefield sites. Malcolm has had a life long interest in the campaigns of the British Army during the 19th century, especially the Peninsular War. He has had experience of leading groups on Battlefield Tours, in Germany, Poland and Spain.
