       "Having just returned from your Badajoz Battlefield Tour I wanted to say what a fantastic experience it was. The planning that you and Else had put into the trip was extraordinary and made it a relaxed and informative tour. As one who wasn’t particularly interested in the Peninsular War you made the visits to the battlefields interesting but at the same time comprehensive enough to cater for John’s enthusiasm for the battles and sieges. Some of the vantage points with stunning views of both the battlefields and the Spanish countryside were breathtaking and without doubt could not possibly have been included with large tour company running a coach.

       "How you got us up to the likely position where The Buffs were attacked by the French Cavalry, at Albuera, I’ll never know. Your local knowledge proved invaluable when you disappeared to get the curator of the Albuera Museum to come and open up so that we could complete our visit to the place that has featured in our family history.

       "Meal times were very special as you managed to get us to sample the tastes, culture and variety of Spanish cuisine. Not a fish and chip shop in sight. You looked after us so well and we know that you found us the best small family run hotels, our favourite being the 16th century one in Trujillo. What a fantastic town with its medieval buildings, storks’ nests and great bars and restaurants.  A truly wonderful experience, that we will never forget."
